I filmed and edited a social media feature for Xico in recognition of Indigenous People's Day, highlighting Indigenous artist Adriana Quintero of Maxica Colectivo. The project was produced on short notice while I was on retainer through side haus agency, requiring fast planning, production, and turnaround.
I handled the full shoot and edit; filming an interview and supporting B-roll, then shaping the piece specifically for social engagement. Adriana completed the interview in both English and Spanish, and I chose to cut the Spanish version to reflect where she was most comfortable and expressive on camera. I translated the full interview for subtitles, edited from the subtitled transcript, and then verified accuracy and flow with a Spanish speaker to ensure clarity and cultural respect.
The video was published as a collaborator post between both accounts to bring audiences together and celebrate Indigenous artistry. It performed strongly across engagement metrics and supported the goal of elevating both the artist and the cultural significance of her work.
This project highlights my ability to:
- Produce and edit interview-driven social content on tight timelines
- Make editorial decisions that prioritize authenticity and on-camera comfort
- Manage translation-based editing workflows with subtitle accuracy
- Capture both interview and B-roll to build a cohesive narrative
- Plan collaborative social releases to expand reach and engagement
The final piece combines documentary-style interviewing with thoughtful editorial decisions to respectfully and effectively spotlight an Indigenous artist for a wide social audience.
